Harvard university American Repertory Theater

At Harvard University, one enduring cultural asset is the American Repertory Theater, which has been a leading force in American theater since its founding in 1980 by Robert Brustein. The Theater, currently housed in the Loeb Drama Center at Harvard, is planning for a new a home in Allston.

The new state-of-the-art research and performance center is designed to provide a space for groundbreaking performances, public gatherings, teaching, and international research. The building will highlight a state-of-the-art main stage theater with two flexible performance venues - a 700-seat West Stage for large-scale productions and a 300-seat East Stage for productions requiring versatility. In addition, the building contains rehearsal studios and teaching spaces, a public lobby, cafe, and outdoor performance area.

With its commitment to exploring the issues of today and addressing climate change, Harvard  is focused on energy efficiency and sustainability goals for the new building. The TERVA Engineering Team is honored to be a part of this project and will perform commissioning services for the new building with progressive goals of achieving LEED v4 Gold and Living Building Certification (LBC). TERVA teamed with ENE Controls Structureware on this project.
