Mary Baker Eddy House - COMMISSIONING

Mary Baker Eddy is the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science. Longyear Museum maintains eight houses in which Mrs. Eddy once lived, each house marking a stage of her life. The historic home in Chestnut Hill was the final home of Mary Baker Eddy and summarized her life as a leader.

Being a Part of History

The historic Mary Baker Eddy home is currently under repair and rehabilitation. The property is being declared a “House Museum” by the Massachusetts State Board of Building Regulations and Standards. The building is recognized and preserved because of its occupancy in the early 20th century by Mary Baker Eddy. The goal for the project is to ensure the main house and carriage house maintain their original appearance from approximately 2010.

The TERVA Engineering Team was brought in to manage construction administration, engineering support, construction, and post occupancy commissioning on two primary structures. TERVA will be responsible for commissioning systems which include main electrical switchgear, breaker settings, ATS switches, emergency generator, boilers and hot water systems, air handling units, exhaust fans, VAV/CV terminal boxes, plumbing systems, lighting controls, and fire alarm.
