60 Oxford Street Building
When Harvard University has a vision, putting the plan in motion and outlining important goals is second nature to them.
The Future of Science and Engineering
This two-year renovation/upgrade project of the 60 Oxford Street Building, originally built in 2004 for Harvard’s data center and science research labs, will create a modernized building to serve as the new home for the Harvard Quantum Initiative. The state-of-the-art hub will be a space for quantum science and engineering collaboration and will house research labs, teaching labs for a new cross-disciplinary PhD program, offices, and seminar rooms.
The TERVA Engineering Team was called upon to provide commissioning services for HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems in the building during construction administration, acceptance, and turnover. To pursue the Living Building Challenge’s CORE Green Building Certification and the Materials Petal Certification incorporating high-performance building systems, healthy materials, and biophilic design elements, the TERVA Team’s experience and skills will prove to be the added value needed to accomplish these lofty goals.
