LOFTMAN HALL FAÇADE STUDY
The TERVA Design Team partnered with Northeastern University to perform a façade study on Loftman Hall, a residence hall on the Northeastern Campus. The goal of the study was to assist the University in quantifying the areas in need of repair to prepare for next steps. The Team documented the building’s existing conditions with a focus on deficiencies including visible structural issues and areas of deteriorated masonry and mortar. The study revealed the building was in need of repair due to water infiltration. The Team recommended replacement of windows, restoration of masonry, and renovation of existing fire escape structures to create a more sustainable and safer environment for the students.
